FINRA Mutual Fund Analyzing and Search Tools
Mutual Fund Expense Analyzer Tool – Analyzing Fund Fees and Expenses
Mutual funds have expenses that are paid by investors through the mutual fund company deducting amounts periodically. Mutual funds within the same family, mutual fund company, or investment objectives have different expenses. The FINRA has developed this tool to help you compare how these expenses can reduce returns.
You can calculate and compare the expenses of up to three funds or classes of a single fund. The mutual fund prospectus contains expense amounts, sales charges and conversion information pertinent to these calculations.
Mutual Fund Breakpoint Search Tool – Researching Breakpoint Schedules
An investor now has the ability to determine if a mutual fund that has a front-end sales charge offers discounts for larger investments. The discounts that may be available are called “breakpoints.”
The FINRA has developed the Mutual Fund Breakpoint Search Tool to search for “breakpoint” schedules and linkage information of mutual funds with front-end sales charges to ensure that investors are provided discounts where applicable. The tool enables a search to be performed of NSCC’s Mutual Fund Profile database for key information related to mutual fund sales charges.
